The Tempest

Forgiveness and Reconciliation in The Tempest Prospero feels free to set free those who unconventionaled against him whole after he has emerged successful and has seen the men, now pathetic and repentant, repair for their actions. Prospero confronts pansy Alonso, Sebastian, and Antonio and announces that he is the right Duke of Milan and that he caused them to fall here(predicate) as it was all planned out. Prospero hopes that his plan to shipwreck the top executive of Naples and his crew will result in both their espousal of him as Duke of Milan and them realizing their mistakes entirely King Alonsos initial reception is not deep regret for setting Prospero out to ocean in a damaged old boat and dislocate his Dukedom, besides deep relief that someone is on the island, be he real or not, has bid him a cranky welcome (Act 5.Scene 1.Line 89). Alonso does ask Prospero to forgive him for what he has done to Prospero, but the regret seems obligatory and quite a it seems that Alonsos and straightforward regret is that his betrayal of Prospero has resulted in the loss of his son, Ferdinand. Alonsos sketch and conciliatory forgive me is enough to please Prospero: First, portentous athletic supporter/Let me embrace thine age, whose honor cannot be measured or confined (Act 5.Scene 1.Line 124-6). This exchange of pleasantries confirms Prosperos liking for forgiveness and the balancing of the two men Alonso and Gonzalo. Although Prospero is willing to forgive, his sincerity is lost through with(predicate) phases of forgiveness and reconciliation. Caliban is forgiven by Prospero despite his wrong doings and what happened in the past. The best Prospero can do is hold in a rather dull pardon inside a command: Go, sirrah, to my stall; Take with you your companions; as you look To be in possession of my pardon, trim it handsomely. (Act 5.Scene 1.Line 292) The union of Miranada and Ferdinand gives Prospero and Alonso a chance to f urther their reconciliation. As the play co! mes to an end Prospero and Alonso rejoice.
